The airport is operated by PTAngkasa Pura I.Although the status of international airportsince October 28, 2006 to July 2008 there was nointernational routes after the Hajj flights exceptinternational routes last HasanuddinMakassarGaruda IndonesiaSingapore was closedbecause of a loss. PreviouslySilk Air andMalaysia Airlines have been first shut down theirinternational routes to Hasanuddin[2[3AirAsia to reopen the Makassar-Kuala Lumpurroute beginning July 25, 2008.
